Message	closed? I mean completely closed? If so they shouldnt be. Some air should flow through them even when "closed". Also with the very same thing in mind, if you didnt adjust them shut they may ACT like they are shut from carbon/gunk buildup. In which case you want to clean them up to allow for some airflow again.
